My tin foil hat is itchy.

Social contagion is how these incidents are propagated. We have long since passed the threshold where any direct contact is needed between the instigators and the perpetrators.

The people working in the "grievance industry" are the instigators, along with the journalists who cover them. And of course, the "non-profit" and "non-government organizations" who employ the instigators are funded through a complex maze of government sources.

There are factions in the government who want these incidents to happen and benefit from them.

Find the lunatic fringe people, encourage them to act out their rage at their perceived grievances, and look the other way when they do. Everybody in the game knows their part and nobody needs to say anything explicit to anyone else.

Yes, that machinery fostered immorality, chaos, and lawlessness.

Honestly, we all know what that machinery is. So it’s a lie to say it can’t be stopped. And it’s getting to the point where that machinery seems to be begging for an intervention.
