They are reducing carbon by cutting food production. Of course the CO2 sources they intend to reduce aren’t cows, it’s people.
They’ll play the politics both ways, they’ll denounce the rising prices all while they are causing the rise in prices. Something like they do with rising energy prices.
And people who are starving and shivering in the dark will keep voting for them. Or at least the press will say that they do, and most people will believe it.
