No, even "strict scrutiny" was blown out of the water by Justice Thomas in his Bruen opinion. The standard is only "history and tradition," so it will be up to the courts to decide if there is a "history and tradition" of banning concealed carry in vast swaths of a city like Times Square, and if there is a "history and tradition" of banning concealed carry in businesses of public accommodation without that business' explicit permission.
When a crazy criminal shoots an innocent citizen in Times Square will the media take note that it happened in a “gun free “ zone?
Hmm...going to have to learn more about that decision then. I remember one of the “lawTube” guys referring to strict scrutiny in this context, but that’s clearly not dispositive.

But the first time a tourist is busted with a concealed firearm and an out-of-state permit, you can count on the media noting THAT.

It's deja vu again: A Wisconsin woman visiting the 9/11 Memorial yesterday was arrested after a security guard screening her bag spotted a gun in the purse.Ursula Jerry, 41, had a .380-caliber semi-automatic Kel-Tec gun in her purse. The Wall Street Journal reports, "The weapon had two rounds in the magazine-none were in the chamber, the official said." Jerry also told cops, "I travel with this from home on Amtrak to New York City. I don’t mean harm to anyone."
Jerry has a permit for the gun in Wisconsin, but not NYC. Responsible gun owners would know that New York City is really horrible and requires a NYC gun permit, which means out-of-towners are out of luck.
(As an aside: Only two rounds?!?)
