childhood has only existed for ~75 years— 1945 to 2020 — childhood/children were the number one thing in life after the horrors of the prior 10yrs — they were, for the most part, free of work and want and induldged in ways never before possible —

Comfort yourself by recalling that the Soviet Union only lasted around 70 years before it started to break apart. Russia is not all the way healed yet, but if the U.S. can pull up soon, at least we still have our churches. And some of them actually preach the Word of God!
