You left off toilet paper.
1. Clean drinking water. Think about it.
If they count anesthesia on the list they should also count gasoline.
Gasoline trumps several items on the list.
Nikola Tesla invented the TV remote control in 1898.
Earlier agricultural machinery also had a big influence on history. Turning over land that had been used to grow feed for horses to food production was a big deal, but we might not have made it to that point if agricultural production hadn't been increasing before that.
I’d think air conditioning would be in the top 10
RESPONSES:
“1 Printing Press 1450 Johannes Gutenberg allowed literacy to greatly expand”
Information now CENSORED, thanks to the Globalists and the Democrats.
“2 Electric Light 1879 Thomas Edison powered countless social changes”
No longer affordable or reliable to operate, due to the cost and non-reliability of Green Energy.
“3 Automobile 1885 Karl Benz increased personal mobility and freedom”
No longer practical for long distance travel, due to charging times and lack of a reliable power grid.
“4 Telephone 1876 Alexander Graham Bell spread communication across wide areas”
Now being used to spy on people and throw them in jail if they supported Trump on Jan. 6
“5 Radio and Television 1895 & 1926 Guglielmo Marconi & John Baird made the world smaller”
Greatly centralized the ability to control information to the public, and thus promulgate complete lies and fabrications.
“6 Vaccination 1796 Edward Jenner protected people from disease”
Now used to destroy freedoms, in lieu of diseases.
“7 Computer 1939 John Atanasoff, et al. transformed business world; predecessor to the Internet”
Allowed US ‘teachers’ to stop teaching math to young kids, which has directly led to China being king of the hill very shortly.
“8 Airplane 1903 Orville and Wilbur Wright allowed people and products to quickly move”
Soon to be extinct, due to Greta.
“9 Gas powered tractor 1892 John Froelich started agricultural mechanization”
Also soon to be extinct, due to Greta.
“10 Anesthesia 1844 Horace Wells provided a great leap forward for medicine”
Used to allow the mutilation of little boys and little girls by deranged parents and deranged ‘educators’.
I actually think the flush toilet should be number one on the list.
Antibiotics has to be near the top.
“1 Printing Press 1450 Johannes Gutenberg allowed literacy to greatly expand”
Without doubt. It eventually wrested knowledge and education from the hands of the elites and the approved.
“2 Electric Light 1879 Thomas Edison powered countless social changes”
Thomas Edison my chapped ass.
If left to Edison the world would be dependent on DC power. That it’s not is because of NIKOLA TESLA who owned the patent for AC electricity and GAVE IT AWAY because he wanted everyone to benefit from his work.
“3 Automobile 1885 Karl Benz increased personal mobility and freedom”
Small quibble here.
Benz may have produced the first practical horseless carriage but HENRY FORD made it possible to mass produce the automobile so it was affordable to the masses. Mercedes Benz is still identified as an auto for the elite.
“4 Telephone 1876 Alexander Graham Bell spread communication across wide areas”
No quibbles here... but Bell insisted that his telephone be answered by saying “Ahoy” instead of the common hello. Was he a frustrated sailor?
“5 Radio and Television 1895 & 1926 Guglielmo Marconi & John Baird made the world smaller”
Many quibbles here.
Although Baird demonstrated the first television in January, 1926 I’m not sure he patented his invention before Philo Farnsworth patented his all electric television in January 1927. Baird did develop the first color television.
TESLA first demonstrated wireless communication in 1893. The patent office refused Marconi’s patent attempts from 1900 until 1904 because he had used 17 of Tesla’s patents without permission. In 1904 the patent office awarded Marconi the patent for the radio. In 1943 the United States Supreme Court overturned the award and awarded the patent to Tesla.
“6 Vaccination 1796 Edward Jenner protected people from disease”
Vaccinations have saved millions and I ain’t quibbling at all.
Oh, don’t blame Jenner for what Big Pharma has done with vaccines.
“7 Computer 1939 John Atanasoff, et al. transformed business world; predecessor to the Internet”
“8 Airplane 1903 Orville and Wilbur Wright allowed people and products to quickly move”
But we first used it to rain death and destruction from the sky. Can’t blame Wilbur and Orville for that though.
“9 Gas powered tractor 1892 John Froelich started agricultural mechanization”
Thank you Mr Froelich!!
Another area where Henry Ford used his production methods to dramatically lower the cost. The Ford 8N is probably the best ever built. The Farmall H and M series were great too.
“10 Anesthesia 1844 Horace Wells provided a great leap forward for medicine”
Anesthesia, so the surgeon can slice you open and fix whatever is wrong. Not a bad deal at all.
If we were still biting on bullets while the doctor worked we would then need a dentist who would then do his work WITHOUT ANESTHESIA.
#2 Germ theory of disease / sterilization Louis Pasteur and Joseph Lister - saved more lives than anyone else in history.
I say #2 because #1 the printing press was a needed precursor.
11. Dominion software
The greatest gift to mankind, the sweet elixir of life, COFFEE!
Even though the article was written in 2000, the latest invention listed — the computer — was dated 1939! (”Ohio State Dept. of Pre-WWII History” maybe?)
By 2000, the transistor and integrated circuit (1947-1960s) had transformed *all* of electronics, especially computers, which would otherwise have still been fairly rare rather than ubiquitous.
Also, even by 2000, cell phones and the Internet had already been invented, as evidenced by the fact that they were both being used pretty widely by ordinary people.
Central air conditioning should be on the list, too.
Electric motor, used in countless places.
It doesn’t make the list very credible that the named inventor of seven of the first 10 is wrong.
Radio should be Nikola Tesla. In 1943 the US Supreme Court awarded the discovery to Tesla because that filthy thieving WOP illegally used 7 of Tesla’s patents.
#1 Air conditioning
