Ukraine is claiming some of its most significant victories in the south since the start of the Russian invasion, claiming Monday it has recaptured two settlements in the south and one in the east as part of its counter-offensive.
Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of President Volodymyr Zelensky's office, posted an image of soldiers raising the Ukrainian flag over a village he said was in Ukraine's south, which has been mostly controlled by Russia.
Ukraine's military's Operational Command South said its Air Force carried out 21 strikes, while "rocket and artillery units continue to carry out fire missions intensively. Crossings through the Dnipro and Inhulets (rivers) are under close fire control," according to The Guardian.
Kyiv claimed it has destroyed six Russian tanks and other equipment, including nine howitzers.

Wait! one man with cigarettes? Its well known that artillery shells, shrapnel, and bullets (of any caliber) bounce off the average Russian soldier’s uniform which is always pressed, neatly creased, always clean - even in muddy conditions.
Russian troops are very polite, always sober, help find missing pets, help old ladies cross the street, render first aid - even at the risk of their own injury (although its rare to find an injured Russian soldier).
At rest breaks from slaughtering evil Nazis and other vile folk, and after a hard day of slaughtering, they gather around the camp fire and sing and dance with their ever present balalaika, hand organs, and trained bears - all wearing colorful ethnic costumes - even the bears with their cool little hats. They always close the evening by singing the “International” followed by the “State Anthem of the Russian Federation” - the favorite bit of hangers on, fellow travelers and trolls everywhere.
Latest word is that Russia has only suffered a handful of deaths due to vehicle crashes caused by vile enemies. Further, by this time tomorrow they should be approaching the Polish border.
This great and patriotic victory was made possible by the super-faster hyper-faster missiles which destroyed all the enemy’s so called ‘advanced weapons’, even taking out the factories where they were made - the Lockmart production facilities are in total shambles and will not be producing anything for a long time. It's you that lives in the twlight zone if you believe Russian bullshit about killing 1,500 Ukrainian soldiers, blowing up hundreds of tanks (which we never see), destroying all of Ukraine's airforce for the fifth time (which are currently bombing Russian positions in Kherson as we speak), destroying all of the HIMARS for the 2nd time and more than Ukraine has ever received, etc.
Meanwhile, we can actually look and see and geolocate Ukrainian troops taking back these settlements, and we can look and see the Russian tanks that are destroyed and the corpses of your macho macho Russian super soldiers.
