Israeli law is influenced in uncertain degrees by Talmudic, Turkish and British law. Which one of those predominates depends on what mood the judges are in. It’s nuts. So adverse possession might count, or it might not. Why would anyone GAGS about a hermit in a cave by the sea, though? That sort of eccentricity comes with being the Holy Land.
