Chief Justice John Roberts defends Supreme Court's legitimacy

In his first public comments since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade, Chief Justice John Roberts defended the court's legitimacy, saying that its job is to interpret the Constitution.

Chief Justice John Roberts defended the court's legitimacy Friday and said the court will open to the public when it resumes in October.

Roberts, while speaking to an audience of judges attending the 10th Circuit Bench and Bar Conference in Colorado, also said that while all of the court's opinions are open to criticism, disagreeing with a decision should not lead to questioning the court's legitimacy.

"You don't want the political branches telling you what the law is. And you don't want public opinion to be the guide of what the appropriate decision is," Roberts said, according to the Washington Post. "Yes, all of our opinions are open to criticism. In fact, our members do a great job of criticizing some opinions from time to time. But simply because people disagree with an opinion is not a basis for criticizing the legitimacy of the court."

Is this in response to Kamala’s comment? I would refer Justice Roberts to the Murphy Brown episode.... forget about it.

It’s tough to maintain legitimacy when you are prone to duck really consequential rulings, like you did after the last presidential election.

If you have to defend your legitimacy, then you aren’t legitimate.

“”You don’t want the political branches telling you what the law is....”

And here I thought that the theory is that the very political Congress makes The Law, the political Administrative State selectively enforces the The Law and the Judiciary penalizes the caught perps.

Regardless that misguided (imo) Chief Justice Roberts defends Supreme Court integrity, please consider the following constitutional crisis that activist justices are exploiting imo.

Evidenced by the twice-failed attempts of alleged election-stealing, deep state Democrats & RINOs to remove hero Trump from office with mock impeachments, please consider the following.

Globally organized crime, front-ended by very corrupt, constitutionally undefined U.S. political parties imo, has divided the likewise corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Senate, effectively nullifying the Senate's 2/3 supermajority power to remove people impeached by the House from office imo.

In other words, activist justices know that they have job security regardless how much they wrongly allow the feds to overstep their very limited, constitutionally enumerated powers, especially the fed's limited power to appropriate taxes.

In fact, the congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, the main author of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment, had clarified that the delegates to the Constitutional Convention had left the care of the people to the states, not the federal government.

”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)

The remedy for unconstitutionally big federal government oppressing everybody under its boots with unconstitutional taxes and likewise unconstitutional federal interference in the affairs of the sovereign states...

Patriots need to start supporting, ASAP, Trump-endorsed state lawmaker candidates to effectively "secede" ALL the states from the unconstitutionally big federal government by repealing the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popularly elected federal senators) Amendments (16&17A).

Once 16&17A are gone, unconstitutional federal taxes permanently stopped, each state will ultimately find a tsunami of new revenues (imo) that can be used to increase teacher salaries, also salaries of police and fire departments for starters.

Let's also include new state funding for infrastructure maintenance in that list. Undoubtedly many other state social spending programs as well to replace former unconstitutional federal spending programs.

Additionally, no more forced compliance with Democratic politically correct and unconstitutional federal gender-related civil rights protections in order for school kids to eat likewise unconstitutional federal lunches paid for with stolen state revenues for example.

In fact, Justice Louis Brandeis had seemingly reflected on Bingham's words (above) when Brandeis volunteered his "laboratories of democracy" metaphor to emphasize the unique power of the states to serve the people, ultimately depending on the kind of state social spending programs that the legal majority citizen voters of a given state want.

"[...] a single courageous State may, if its citizens choose, serve as a laboratory; and try novel social and economic experiments without risk to the rest of the country." —Justice Louis Brandeis, Laboratories of Democracy.

Corrections, insights welcome.
