If I have to fault Dr. Gold, it is for a lack of situational awareness.
She thought she lived in the land of the free. She may have thought the pursuit of truth was a universal goal. She probably believed that the FBI was a law enforcement agency of great integrity. She may have even considered news reporting to be an honorable profession.

They arrested and prosecuted her for peaceably assembling, and by giving her speech right there, petitioned the government for redress of grievances.
