Most of Russia’s neighbors want to be protected from invasion so they ask NATO for membership. They =apply= for membership in NATO. NATO doesn’t invade, expand or try and influence them since Russia already does that.

For Ukraine, disarm(de-militirize and de-nazify), no NATO, recognize Crimea as Russian, recognize Donbas and Luhansk as independent, give Russian language official status, and allow every oblast(State) the right to vote for independence. Complete surrender and the end of Ukraine as a country.
Gee, Comrade Jon, is it not obvious that the former Soviet states did not trust Russia and sought to join the military alliance for their own protection, a very wise and prescient move on their part born out by Russia's invasion of Ukraine?
