My favorite Sparkling Water at CVS went from .99 to 1.69
No sale...
Chicken feed has gone up, too. Nine hens at prime laying age and not even so much as a yolk.
My flock must have heard about the Paycheck Protection Act. LGB!
(Transportation/Energy Srchg = $15.00)
Expect to see more of thatl with basically any item being shipped,
Construction project managers are leaving that line item open to day of delivery. It could go up or down.
Last month we had a fairly large construction punch list to stay in our home and not worry about winter storms.
Our contractor told us the cost of paint, lumber and whatever has increased 10-20% across the board since we had
our punch jobs done.
It is not all inflation. There is a whole lot of “jump on the band wagon” price gouging happening.
Example... A local C sore doubled the price of their ice. They make and bag it themselves, always have. Despite the fact their electricity, water, and labor costs have not increased one bit.
There is a whole lot of this gouging happening right now across the board.
I recently paid $13.97, down from $15.97 a few months ago.
39.8% my butt.
I can vouch for the eggs... $3 per dozen. Time to think about getting some chicks in the backyard!
We’re in the same boat. Told my husband I’m glad he’s working since with inflation we’d take a hard hit, but on the other hand at this rate he’ll never get to retire.
Very funny, those hens better start laying eggs they need to earn their keep!!
I’ve always been glad I never intended to “retire”-just to go off the clock and work for myself as a sub with or without a crew-but now I’m thrilled-work is sparse, but-at least I’m not afraid of being laid off. I’ve been planning/saving dimes to go totally off grid in the near future-now that is getting accelerated-it is going to be the only way to survive soon, I think...
I’m also glad I have continued the organic/natural diet and lifestyle I was brought up in-the veggies and grass-fed free range meat is going up in price, but not nearly as much as the sugary, starchy carb filled processed stuff most people seem to eat every day-butter has gone up less than than margarine-which would be soft plastic with a couple more ingredients-the price of bread loaves doesn’t matter if you know how to make your own-and/or don’t eat toast or make sandwiches-and there are other fresh veggies with more nutrients than potatoes, too. Natural remedies, supplements/vitamins are cheaper than drugs and not likely to cause harm from side effects, either...
A lot of folks out here live like this-the minimalist/naturalist lifestyle is not really hard if you are used to it-and it is less expensive and healthy, too-however, people should be able to live/eat as they choose-if they want processed food and don’t mind overweight, that shouldn’t break the bank-unfortunately, democrats are costing us all hard earned money that we can’t afford to spend-those RINO congresspeople need to be reminded every damn day that putting a stop to spending is what they were sent to DC to do-not to party and make deals with demonrats at OUR expense...
Congratulations-are you having weight loss surgery? I was brought up on the paleo diet-with some dairy included-yogurt, butter, cheese-and some fresh fruit-I don’t have any taste for sugar or a lot of starch. I hope you learn to like eating healthy. It is still cheaper than the stuff you used to eat BTW...
Don't know where you're at, but my FPL bill has gone up over 70% from this time last year.
I wish it was that procedure.
Osteomy reversal. Got hit a severe blowout internally because of diverticulitis.
Would have repaired back around May but the really great surgeon died unexpectedly.
His replacement has apparently been yanking my chain with one puddly delay or excuse to kick the can down the road. Never had a plan and barely talked to me.
The last visit about all he said was lose 40 pounds and see you in November. I was too shell shocked to think straight after I left which was the normal result of any with him.
2nd opinion time finally came. I made the error of relying on this guy’s reputation and hanging on.
2nd opinion surgeon spent about 45 minutes with my wife there. After actually being really examined since April had drawn up a plan, explained how and why, and the rest. He put me on the diet.
That other guy might be great as they say but I didn’t see anything to convince me.
If my November appointment is still on, I will go and show him how wrong he was and try to get some answers, if any. Then leave.

I just came from our Giant grocery store where I needed to buy a gallon of DISTILLED water. I usually get it there but there was none on the floor. I asked an employee if they moved its location and he said they have been unable to get it resupplied and he further said other stores were having the same problem.
I wonder if the current cost of energy is making it unprofitable to make for some suppliers? Tomorrow my mission assigned by my wife is to go out and seek it at other locations. Oh, joy!
I sell coffee to companies, colleges, LEO, etc.
for a while we couldn’t get Diet 7up or Diet Sprite.
I just found why.
There was a shortage on aluminum so Coke and Pepsi decided to continue making their standard products every day and was only making the diet drinks every 2-3 weeks.
Weird.
Oh, I went to Walmart and bought their sparkling water for $.70 cents...
btt!!
Good for you in seeking another opinion-so many people don’t do that and end up disappointed with results-it sounds like you have the right doc now-please let us know that it goes okay for your surgery and recovery.
The same thing happened to an electrical contractor I work with who also lives up the road from me-for years he ate really bad stuff that you almost could not make a positive ID on as animal or vegetable-I honestly had never seen him eat a fresh veggie or even a handful of blueberries in all the time I’ve known him-and even after he was told he had diverticulitis and was almost morbidly obese, he continued to eat that way and had a blowout that nearly ended it all-but he had a reversal surgery after losing over 60 lbs, he is back at work and has lost another 70 lbs over the last few months and is healthier than he’s been in years...
so hang in there-good things will happen...
Four eggs now cost what a dozen eggs cost last year. A can of chili with beans has risen by 38%. Butter? Doubled in price.
The only good thing about this is I’m planning more, substituting more, buying fewer items, and throwing less food away.
I have so far good days and bad.
Just being treated like I was not even in the room the few times I saw the successor surgeon and him spinning my wheels from month to month is the part that gets me.
If it was a case of being overloaded, he could have admitted it or recommended me to someone else. He did neither. I guess the guy is a plain jerk.
Does sound like a jerk-and since he wouldn’t say he was overbooked and recommend you to someone who had the time-a greedy one...
