BERLIN — Olaf Scholz urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to completely withdraw his troops from Ukraine during a call Tuesday, as the German chancellor faces growing pressure at home to give more military aid to Kyiv.
This parallels feedback I’m getting from even fairly conservative friends in Europe. (Fairly conservative for Europe, that is.) Right or wrong, they see Putin as being the main reason for their economic problems, followed closely by disgust at their own pols’ lack of action / weakness / dithering.
