Republican House members released its 'Commitment to America' video and it is filled with stock images of Russia and Ukraine.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, 57, released the video on Friday on behalf of House Republicans, claiming that the 'Democrats have led America off-track' through 'crippling inflation and rampant crime' as well as the 'border chaos.'
'What’s worse, they have ignored your priorities and shown contempt for your values. We will not allow it,' the video narrated. 'We celebrate the rich heritage of the American story and the vibrancy of the American Dream.'
But it seems American 'values' lie within Russia and Ukraine, as the new video displays several visuals showing mining equipment and happy children well outside the borders of the United States.
Several visuals were reportedly taken by Serg Grbanoff, a filmmaker based in Russia.
One of Grbanoff's videos that appears in the Republican video features a drilling rig that was reportedly filmed in Russia’s Volgograd region, the videographer told HuffPost. The video can be found on Shutterstock, a popular stock image website.
Another visual belonging to Grbanoff was the adorable footage of a young boy running through a field with a red airplane, which was also reportedly taken in the Volgograd region.

Did McCarthy forget to include “Finish the Wall” or “Repeal Obamacare” in his “Commitment to America” ?
I did like the parents’ bill of rights though. Who’d a thunk we’d need it, but here we are.
If this is true, then The Stupid Party strikes again.
This is on the producer/production company.
if true
so what?
they used stock footage
who doesnt?
they are supposed to spend money videoing origninal footage?
its not a feature film
its the words that matter
the video is just background

Thank You FRiend, I was thinking the same thing, where is the promise to finish the wall.?! I’m tired of the RINO squish group-think. Kick them all out. Jim Jordan for Speaker. Conservative policies work best and President Trump has shown the way. Why do these “Republicans” resist doing what is right?
“If this is true, then The Stupid Party strikes again.’
Read my tagline. I think it says it all.
Lots of organizations use “stock photos” It doesn’t mean much. Also, the leftie news use images that are fake ALL the time so what’s the big deal UK news?
They can make all the excuses in the world about using stock footage being a normal thing, but this is politically sensitive material being used in a way that is bound to backfire.
Republicans shouldn’t ever use that production company again.
Don’t be sloppy. Do good homework. Make sure you’re showing genuine American people and places if you want to reinforce speech about traditional American values.
I’m sure this thread would be 200 posts long if stock video of a Russian sub was used in place of video of a US Navy sub.
Not exactly a red plane , at least to my eyes it isn't.
What I want to know is why is that commitment just now surfacing? Should that have not been the commitment all along? They take an oath for that commitment, but have not been living up to it.
It’s called window dressing.
I was just about to say something about the Stupid Party, but you beat me to it.
“Repeal Obamacare”—that was a real knee-slapper!
Except this has been an issue with campaign videos in the past. Something basic that should have been double checked.
Maybe no american company would give them permission to use domestic stock footage?
I remember when the rats put out a vid that featured an out take of US Navy warships.
Except, they were Soviet warships.
The hoots and howls at FR were appropriate.
