They used to say that if an incumbent Senator was below 50%, they will lose. I’m not sure if that still applies.

Patty Murray is the STUPIDEST member of the US Senate.
Murray and demoncrats are running horrible nasty personal ads against Smiley, but her ads are positive and on point about policy and what Murray hasn’t done for WA during the past 30 years.

USCG is going to be very, very unhappy if Murray loses.
Sadly, it ain’t just King County. There 6 other counties that are heavily Lib. That being said, King is the most corrupt. The County elections office is probably going to be relied on to overcome any lead Smiley may have.
For anyone who has been to Washington state its hard to imagine a Democrat ever losing a senate race there. Totally wacky people in the populous areas.

Indeed. I just heard an interview they did with Mrs. Smiley. She says she feels confident based on recent polls. I wonder if anybody has informed her of the ‘Gregoire effect’ yet. I hope her advisers are keeping that in mind.

Smiley sent me a nice (form) letter asking for a surprisingly modest donation. I don’t usually contribute to politicians, but since I really hate Patty Murray, I sent her the requested donation. So now I really hope she wins.
Murray was a member of the Osama bin Laden fan club: “He’s been out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day-care facilities, building healthcare facilities, and the people are extremely grateful.”
As ugly as she is stupid. I will never forget how the media gushed over “the mom with tennis shoes” when this ditzy lady was first elected.
