Ukraine will recapture the four occupied territories slice by slice, also known as “salami tactics”.
Also, Spetsnaz wiped out in Lyman after DPR conscripts fled and left them to fend for themselves. Putin ordered Spetsnaz not to retreat from Lyman and now they’re all dead.

As it is, the (smallish) town is empty, and it’s rubble, Ukraine is welcome to have it.
Ukraine’s counteroffensive, confirming it withdrew troops from the eastern town of Lyman, within the newly annexed Donetsk region.
Russia has what it wanted; the provinces of (the former) eastern ukraine. But I’ll play along - Ukraine winning!

Maybe, but it would be smarter for the Ukrainians to let them withdraw than fight street-to-street. Especially without their arms or vehicles.
