While I agree the crew that caught it should be commended.
Someone needs to look into how 116 out of 128 could be bad and they are just now being caught. How was it not caught when 10 were bad or just 5?
They’re not saying 116 are bad, but from the same design or batch as the small number found failing. Grounding those 116 till inspected/tested. Reasonable move.
Maybe none were “bad” prior.
Old planes, maybe they just found another bit that now needs to be added to the checklist.
