Lee Rodgers is who I was thinking of. Rodgers died in 2013. He was well known for his 14 years co-hosting mornings at KSFO with Melanie Morgan.
Loved Lee Rodgers! Armstrong and Getty fill the 6-9 spot.
Lee Rodgers (with a “d”) was on KGO before KSFO. In the early 90s he had the late afternoon shift, just before Bernie Ward, and they used to debate each other on Mondays, they called it the Monday Night Fights. I always thought Rodgers got the better of it, but it turned out that Ward was a master debator.
Brian Sussman took over when Rodgers retired in 2010 and co-hosted with Melanie Morgan until she left in 2013. Sussman continued to host until 2019 and he was a fantastic conservative host on KSFO as well.
I go back to Ira Blue.
Sure loved them all and Dr Don Rose on KFRC.
Dr Don wasn’t political on his on his show but
he walked the conservative walk in real life!
I can still recall hearing Lee Rodgers announcing that a jet had crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center 21 years and 2 months ago.
KSFO used to replay the chilling broadcast every September 11th for quite some time.
Now, we get the Armstrong & Getty blather in the morning. They’re not bad, but they just aren’t in a class with Rodgers/Sussman and Melanie Morgan. I really stopped listening to them in March, 2021, when I stopped driving to work due to a car accident.
