My thoughts were of the comment he made to that Mayor in Flordia the day before. It made no sense to me at the time. Looking back surely someone gave him a heads up that this article was coming out. Perhaps a not so vailed threat?

Yup. They will probably say that he “intended to do,the right thing, but wax prevented by the sister-in-,law (wasn’t it her that threw the gun away?)” Or some such lame excuse.
