No, it's not. A Republican congress will ensure that Biden gets no legislation passed for the remainder of his term in office.
Clarence Thomas isn't getting any younger. Should the unthinkable happen, McConnell will hold his seat open just as he did for Antonin Scalia.
Should something happen to Biden, a Republican Senate will ensure the whoever Kamala Harris picks for VP will have to meet their approval.
And at the end of the day, I'd rather Mitch McConnell be the Senate Majority Leader than Chuck Schumer.
There are a lot of purists here on Free Republic, who are very critical of just about every Republican besides Donald Trump.
If the Republicans control both houses of Congress, that means no committee chairs will be Democrats. Even RINOs vote the right way more than half the time, whereas Democrats vote the right way very rarely (and never when it counts). I don’t trust McConnell very far, but he did do a good job on judges and justices during Trump’s administration and got his 3 Supreme Court justices confirmed despite all the venom and dirty tricks of the other party.
“No, it’s not. A Republican congress will ensure that Biden gets no legislation passed for the remainder of his term in office.”
Biden won’t care. He’ll use his veto power to quash any Republican initiatives. He’ll go around Congress by issuing executive orders. If the House impeaches Biden the Senate will not convict because the GOP won’t have a 2/3 majority and several GOP members (Romney, Collins, Murkowski (if still there) won’t vote to convict.
“A Republican congress will ensure that Biden gets no legislation passed for the remainder of his term in office.”
Legislation? Biden don’t need no stinkin’ legislation. He has Executive Orders.
And the GOP might technically win 2-4 seats, but they won’t be declared winners. RATs are doing everything wrong when it comes to policy. It’s clear to them that GOP is winning hearts and minds. But are they changing their narrative or strategy? No; they’re doubling down.
They know the fix is in. I said this when Biden was holed up in his basement and I was criticized. They aren’t scared in the least.
