Moscow’s deadly air assault on Ukrainian cities has ramped up pressure on Western nations to rush air defense systems to the embattled country, but it is still unlikely to receive one of the world’s most effective tools against incoming projectiles.
Israel’s Iron Dome air defense, which boasts a 90 percent success rate against rockets fired against it, will stay out of Ukraine’s reach, said experts, as Jerusalem seeks to maintain strategic relations with Russia in Syria and other hot spots.

Because much of the weaponry sent to Ukraine has ended up on the world arms market.
Because the Ukrainians would sell the blueprints to Israel’s enemies
Maybe Israel doesn’t want to see it offered in turn for sale to the the whole world. That would make it easy for their enemies to come up with countermeasures.
Well Uke has no money for one thing…
… then Uke would turn around and sell one to Israel’s enemies.
I wonder if Israel is going to regret selling us the Iron Dome system currently on Guam. Right now, I certainly don’t trust Joe to not crate it up and ship it to Poland. I doubt the Israelis feel any more comfortable with the situation.
Because Iron Dome would be revealed as marginally effective against crude home-made Gaza missiles, but useless against modern threats.
Their air defense is largely part of the US air defense. We could give them air defense. Then of course Russia would have our air defense. The Ukraine would lose it or sell it.
The Ukraine will be missilled out of existence in the next few months. Every major road, train, bridge, power plant will be hit. All those people who are fighting for Ukraine will need to fix those things. Their food and weapons will be in short supply. They will be guerrilla warriors.
I read in a book somewhere that the Russians and the Israelis would have a war at a place called Megiddo. I really don’t want to see such a war.
There is NO WAY the Ukrainians could be trained to make it work. It would be easier for Ukrainians to service F35 jets than this system.
How dare Israel not sell defensive weapons to the Azov Nazis!
It sounds like Putin’s recent temper tantrum has convinced NATO that they need to come together and provide Ukraine a better solution for air defense.
The US helped finance development and maintains a stake in the technology. Israel had no choice at the time.
Having been involved in lots of overseas equipment sales I can say that the TDP. Technical Data Package. Is almost never part of the deal. The issue is probably that the Russians will cleft data like frequencies used, pulse rates and other things they might give to the Syrians or Hamas.
Well, you said in technical terms what I meant.
Excellent analysis. Thanks.
Why should they?
“Because Iron Dome would be revealed as marginally effective against crude home-made Gaza missiles, but useless against modern threats.”
Bingo, they have always pretended that Iron Dome was more effective than it actually is.
Too risky, the Russians might capture the system.
That’s what you say
