Kiev seeks $20B lending program from IMF - Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday that the up to $20 billion lending program agreement between the country and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has to be "finally" approved.

In a speech at an event organized by the World Bank and the IMF, the Ukrainian leader specified that the nation needs $38 billion to make up for the budget deficit in 2023 and another $17 billion to cover the costs of rebuilding the critical infrastructure.

Ukraine needs another $2 billion in "targeted credit" to reconstruct energy infrastructure so it could continue energy exports to Europe, as well as at least $5 billion more in "credit limits" to purchase natural gas and coal ahead of the heating season, according to Zelensky.

If my addition is right, Churchill in a greasy T-shirt is asking the IMF for $57bn. And who exactly is the IMF? Pony up you damn fools.

Catching on yet?

Ukraine economy is imploding, hard.
Therefore, the move is expected, a given, a necessity.

At this point, the EU and USA are probably providing 90% of the operating government budget - and certainly all the military aid and any urgent reconstruction. I would imagine that total aid is probably 70% or more of Ukraine GDP

The only thing they need to supply now is bodies - to feed into the slaughter

I read somewhere (don’t have it bookmarked) that Ukraine needed/needs $5-7 billion a month to just stay break even/to stay above water.

The IMF is now giving out “loans” (which will never be repaid) for crazy comedians to bomb civilian bridges in the Crimea?

This has got to be the most expensive war ever fought. We are already going well over 100 billion. It’s been a little over 7 months. What weapons systems is Ukraine operating?
They aren’t even using air power. Where is all of that money going?

They should do what everybody else does, live within their means.

They won’t and have not.

Hence, why ZelenskyyIdiot incessantly begs, pleads, grovels to the West/US/EU/UK/NATO for more tanks, planes, military hardware, munitions, and money.

Ukraine ping

Not some big surprise. Florida sustained an estimated $40b in losses from a hurricane lasting less than a day, and the death toll was 200, at worst. Ukraine has sustained possibly 100,000 dead. If you merely valued each life at the nominal airplane crash compensation number of $175K, that’s $17.5b right there. The hurricane is over, but the Russians continue to kill Ukrainians and destroy Ukrainian infrastructure with everything ranging from rifle fire to ballistic missiles.

According to World Bank/IMF, Ukraine’s 2021 GDP was $200 billion.

7 million people fled to both EU (and Russia) when this war started. That’s about 20% of the population. They have conscripted every man between 18-65. They lost the Eastern Oblasts to Russia (or what remains is probably destroyed by war) and their output and population.

What is GDP now? Its anyone’s guess

The fact that the USA has given them $80 billion and Zelensky is asking for another $57 billion again tells me foreign support is the vast majority of their total economy

So, they are a complete and total colony of NATO and the USA.

It also says - that if US political support waivers in the slightest - Ukraine collapses to nothing. It will disappear.

So Kiev needs $2B to continue energy exports to Europe, and another $5B to purchase energy for domestic use??

So, who in the IMF has Zelenskyy been laundering money for, and now he is threatening to ‘spill the beans’?

We know, (mostly) which American Politicians have been laundering their grift and graft through Ukraine, but I haven’t heard of any outside the US who have done so.

Given that less than 30% of what has been given to Zelenskyy has actually reached the peasants / cannon fodder, Zelenskyy must by now be close to being the world’s richest man, even if he has to share it with some of his ministers.

What should happen is a complete take over of that hole by the rest of the countries in that area.

Try and convince the Russians to set the areas they claim aside and make independent countries out of them under the protection of Russia.

Before this is over, and if they dont get to diplomacy, that hole will cause the destruction of all western countries economically in Europe.

OR...demand Biden resigns and the new administration opens up all energy production without restrictions as of yesterday.
