Hospitals across the United States are overwhelmed with children suffering from a specific respiratory illness, according to reports.
According to a report from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), data showing Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) cases spiked over the last month.
Typically, RSV causes children to contract the usual mild-cold symptoms, but the impact could be far worse for those with a compromised immune system or a heart defect.

I first noticed it a year and a half ago when a good friend, slightly older, got shingles after his second Pfizer shot. Hurt like hell, and he doesn't like to take pain meds no matter how temporary that would be.

I still don't know what autophagy is but it turns out that "SARS-CoV-2 proteins manipulate autophagy" (also from the internet). I wonder what other kinds of proteins might manipulate autophagy? To be scientifically complete, I would investigate both Covid and vaccines for this effect.
As an aside, how is it possible that hospitals do not added capacity for respiratory patients?
We just came off two long years of “lockdowns” put in place for the express purpose of giving hospitals time to expand that capability.
I know that people who do intermittent fasting speak of autophagy for contributing to cellular health.

Never heard of this “RSV” in children until about a year ago. And every child who I know got it was vaxxed.

Autophagy.... Greek; Literally, to devour yourself. We have biological repair systems in our bodies that take apart broken cells and DNA and either discard it or reuse it.
Nonsense. RSV. Has been around for years. Hits hardest with children under two. I had a child who was hospitalized twice with it. And one other child was an er visit and she lost 3 lbs in 1 week. Nasty virus. Oxygen and respiratory therapy are the only treatments that I know for it. In older children it is just a bad cold usually.

Why is RSV so bad this year?
Experts agree that people did the right thing by wearing masks and socially distancing because of the coronavirus, but the lack of interaction with germs also made our bodies far less resilient to disease.
Small interactions with viruses prime our system to better handle future exposures to viruses. After years of masking in schools and distancing, children have fewer biological defenses to fend off multiple viruses at once. Most children under 3 have never known a world without covid-19, so neither have their immune systems. Part of this is also a numbers game — the more months the viruses are prevalent, the better chance an immune system can be caught off-guard.
My comment: this sounds like the usual Post medical gibberish to me. Very little that they write about medicine makes sense. Also they are clearly writing the establishment viewpoint.
Good point. After all the talk of the money given to hospital and the “two weeks to stop the spread”, I never saw any evidence of our local hospital “ramping up” for anything. There was no increase in beds or staff for respiratory illness, and no increase in the numbers of physicians specializing in such illnesses.
My cousin is a RN and charge nurse in our local hospital and said they actually made no special changes for all the Covid-19 patients they were supposedly going to have overwhelm their wards. One wing was set aside for those in distress, but that was it. The hospital was never “overwhelmed”.
She refused to take the vaxx and asked for a religious exemption. They kept delaying a response to her request but kept her working. She delayed it long enough and they needed her services so much, that they finally they stopped mentioning it to her. She has worked there almost 35 years and thought she was going to have to retire sooner than she planned. But, she waited them out. An RN who never received the shot and was never let go.
