Three weeks after Sacheen Littlefeather’s passing, a writer has come forward with claims that the celebrated activist and former actress spent her life fraudulently posing as a Native American. Littlefeather died on Oct. 2 of metastasized breast cancer at age 75.

In fairness to the woman if her family had a legend of Native ancestry then she had little reason to dispute that before the advent of DNA and online geneology services.
My own family claimed German and British ancestry and when I did a DNA test I came back 100% Norwegian.
Well, at least it didn’t come back as 50% Cocker Spaniel..

Her family had nothing to do with this-”Littlefeather” was an American Hispanic-no traceable Native ancestry-her sisters’ account of what she did is in the article-also one in the original post-she cooked the whole thing up when her modeling career went stale-she even accused her parents of abuse and raising her in a shack when they were actually a normal working class family living in a normal house-she played Fauxcahontas for advantages even before Liz Warren thought of it...
