There's a whole lot of anti-Jewish and anti-Israel sentiment in Russia. See the dates with the links in comment #17. I added the one about Saddam Hussein for good measure after recently seeing so many lies here about Iraq.

Oh...and Iraq? Besides liberating Kuwait and U.S. interests in regard to oil the first time, the second Gulf War was about isolating Iran and keeping it from expanding into a monster and radicalizing the whole Middle East. So was the war in Afghanistan. The main purpose was served.
