I’m surprised Russia is just getting around to this in the last month or so. Seems as soon as they figured out they were on for a real war (several weeks in or so) they would’ve nailed water and electric.

This is a clear distinction in tactics and strategy. The world does not want a carbon copy of the US and it’s “shock and awe” carpet bombing campaigns which it has successfully conducted on countries without the ability to fight back.

I’m surprised Russia is just getting around to this in the last month or so.
Russia wanted to take over Ukraine intact. They expected to take over Ukrainian industry, infrastructure, agriculture and other resources and use for their own purposes. Only recently have they given up this ambition.
