“Like me, not knowing what ‘extractionism’ is. Guess I bees ignorant of that.”
That’s a new Orwellism on me, too.
I had to look it up...
“Extractionism: taking money/value from others without creating anything of value; anything that produces economic growth or improves our lives.”
Sounds like any government and bureaucracy.
Strange she would be against those two entities given her politics.
As I think about it more, fighting extractionism would create even more extractionism - it would require another huge bureaucracy to determine and regulate what consists “taking of money” and what objective “value” is.
By “taking of money” they mean you being fooled by some greedy “seller” into spending your money on something that you want but that some bureaucracy determines you don’t need, ie, has no “value”.
In other words, the bureaucracy will tell you that you can only spend your money on what they consider good for you (of value).
And the manufacturers and service providers will only be allowed to sell products and services that the bureaucracy deems “valuable” and not to advertise them because that “fools” people into buying your products.
So anti-extractionism is just a repackaged term for socialism and/or communism. It’s basically an anti-personal-freedom concept based on the premise that people are too stupid to know what’s good for them.
My prediction is, you will start seeing the use of this term more and more because the terms “socialism” and “communism” have developed a stench and thus they needed to manufacture a new “good sounding term” to push the same crap.
Here’s an article attempting to give it creds...

Libs the world over are quite good at cleverly focusing their narratives. They know how to frame and brand their campaigns to push their agenda. They might be overplaying their hand this time with ‘extractionism’ however. That’s a little vague and not up to their usual targeting language.
Oh, like facebook?
Whag about “stochastic terrorism”? 😎👍
