A Chinese rocket booster plummeted to Earth on Friday morning, falling into the Pacific Ocean.

The U.S. Space Command reported that the debris from the Long March 5B rocket re-entered Earth's atmosphere over the south-central Pacific Ocean at 4:01 a.m. MDT.

Later, the agency said it could confirm a second atmospheric entry correlated with the rocket five minutes later as it exited the Space Command Area of Responsibility over the Northern Pacific Ocean region.

China has the technology to destroy rockets that go off course. But that costs money to implement. They don't spend the money for safety because they do not place a high value on human life.

I suppose you think the US never had such mishaps. You’d be mistaken.

At least the US has a system to destroy an errant rocket. The Chinese don’t bother with the extra costs.

We didn't until they starting launching rockets from Canaveral. We put more than on V-2 rocket into Mexico; and, one crater was made just outside a town.

What do you know of the Chinese launch site? I'd be willing to bet it is at a very remote site. The Chinese do not like the eyes of even their own citizens on their hardware.

NASA has been forced out of the rocket business by the successful team of brilliant engineers employed by Elon Musk
