Nevertheless, given what you correctly point out, to get a full picture of the CCHD's goals, intentions, and influence, you would have to add the ways in which it has worked in concert with the Democratic Party itself, and especially with Communist, abortionist, homosexual, anti-American, anti-European, anti-Israel, anti-family, anti-traditional, and anti-Catholic groups.
It's as if the CCHD sees something good, and gets an urge to destroy it. St. John Chrysostom and St. Anthanasius both said hell is paved with the skulls of unfaithful bishops.
Maybe these guys look at how much God expects of them and start trying to strike a deal with the opposition, figuring it has to be easier.

After the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade, and the matter of abortion was returned to the states, it was never more critical for the Church hierarchy to be vocal about it - yet most weren’t, and many “catholic” areas of the country voted for pro-infanticide candidates.
The American Catholic Church is meaningless at this point; they don’t even have a choir to whom they can preach anymore.
