Ukraine liberated the city of Kherson after Russian troops fled, with soldiers treated to a hero's welcome by jubilant as they arrived in city centre this afternoon.
Flag-waving locals wept, chanted the name of Ukrainian armed forces, hugged and kissed troops as they arrived in the city's main square hours after the bulk of Moscow's forces withdrew across Dnipro River.
Ukraine's artillery had pounded the city and the nearby Dnipro River overnight and into the early hours in the hopes of destroying any last Russians trying to flee. Rumours swirled that thousands of troops might be trapped in the city, but as the day wore on those hopes seemed ill-founded.
Fears that Russia could be laying some kind of trap also failed to materialize.
SNIP
Videos showed Moscow's troops crossing the Dnipro over a pontoon bridge as the sun came up, before they blew up the Antonovskiy Bridge
Russia's defence ministry said: 'At 05:00 Moscow time today, the redeployment of Russian units to the (eastern) bank of the Dnipro River was completed. During the redeployment, not a single piece of military hardware or weaponry was left behind. All Russian service personnel were moved across, there were no losses.'
Despite the apparent success of the retreat, the loss of Kherson still represents a major defeat for Putin and his armed forces. It was the sole regional capital captured by his army since the invasion began, and sits in a region he declared to be part of Russia just a few weeks ago.
Losing Kherson means any Russian assault on Odesa is now all-but impossible. It also means that Ukraine can now strike parts of Crimea - the crown jewel of his last invasion, in 2014 - with long-range artillery. Kyiv has already said it plans to take the peninsula back.

“They can barely conduct normal attacks.”
So Russia is getting pushed back by an army of incompetents, that’s your grand thesis in a nutshell?
“When they tried a small amphib raid on the Zap Nuclear plant, they were annihilated.”
The nuclear plant is a small target and the river is a very large one that the Ukes could choose to cross at any point. And the Russians have shown they’re stretched too thin to defend the whole front, so it’s just a matter of time for the Ukes to find a point weak enough to cross and make a beachhead, then things will continue going badly for Russia I think.

Update on Russian military operations in and around Ukraine for November 11, 2022.
- Russia completes withdrawal from Kherson city to east bank of the Dnieper River;
- Ukraine has lost its last major opportunity to corner and destroy/capture large numbers of Russian forces/equipment;
- Russia continues stated process of de-militarizing Ukraine;
- US aid to Ukraine becomes increasingly unrealistic - Hawk missiles designed in the 1960s and unused for 2 decades are being "refurbished" for a lack of better options;
- "Avenger" systems to be sent in small numbers (4) which are essentially Stinger missiles attached to a Hummer - after training for Ukrainian operators is completed;
- Dwindling amounts of basic ammunition continue to be sent to Ukraine, prolonging the conflict, but not in quantities to even allow Ukraine to hold what it has;
- As Russian forces withdrew from Kherson city, they advanced elsewhere in southern and northern Donbass.

Probably, but maybe not. But the Ukes don’t have the ability to attack in force across the Dnieper. And Donbass and Lugansk have been accepted into the Russian federation now. That isn’t going to change unless NATO gets directly involved. And if that happens... you will likely hear about it. Maybe firsthand.
What I see is Russia establishing a defensive line they intend to hold. The Donbass and the land bridge to Crimea.
Maybe you see it differently.
B/S. Knock it off.
Yeah Roberto D... and your view is skewed by what a Uke wife says now. A lot of the population of Kherson left on buses in an orderly manner.., not forced. The Zelenski fans stayed behind as the Russians withdrew. Bosheviks disgust me... so do galician Nazis.
Spin it how you want.
Roberto D’Aubuisson? I did an interview with him.
Yes, I have a Ukrainian wife, a very educated one. If Bolsheviks truly disgust you then why have you sided with them consistently? And you side with the Wagner Nazis. I side with the Ukrainian farm boys who are out there fighting against those Bolsheviks that you really support.
“The nuclear plant is a small target and the river is a very large one that the Ukes could choose to cross at any point”
Yeah sure. Eisenhower had resources the Ukes can only dream of and the Dnieper is even worse than the Rhine he worried about. Not happening. And for what it’s worth, the Ukes haven’t really fought them back. They collapsed back in the north over areas left with just police formations, and in Kherson, they rolled in as Russia moved to it’s permanent border.
But hey, makes no difference to me if your fantasy makes you feel better. Enjoy your great patriotic war for your Zelenski Biden Boris WEF Schwab axis.
LOL, sure Ukrainians 'haven't really fought back' near Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lyman or Kherson, but for some reason Russians keep retreating.
November 11, 2022, Blue and flags all over Kherson to the Dnipro river.
Obviously the Russians have very powerful rocket artillery too, but, I would not want to be on the receiving end of this:

Can anyone translate the soldiers’ comments?
The West needs to get substantially more HIMARS, long range artillery (M777-ER would be fantastic), and drones to the Ukies in the Kherson area, to keep Russian artillery from destroying Kherson. Given that, it also looks to me like the Russians will be down to one major road that comes into Crimea from the NE, and a railway that won’t really do them a lot of good. The other major road runs ~parallel to the river for a while; both it and the main railway south are easy targets for the Ukies if they (Ukraine) can operate even somewhat unimpeded from the West Bank away from the more densely populated areas.
The ground in Ukraine will likely freeze in the next 4-7 weeks. When that happens, we will see everything change in Ukraine.

“50% OF RUSSIAN TROOPS HAVE FROSTBITE OF THEIR FEET...”
can we get our BILLIONS back then because the Ukes are “winning?” I dony really give a sh*t about that stupid country but our southern border needs the money more than that shithole country aka the ATM of the WEF.
1. There will be no freezing of war, we are not refrigerator - Danilov
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that Ukraine does not plan to “freeze” the war after the de-occupation of Kherson.
Danilov told about it during the telethon, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to Ukrainian truth.
“We cannot freeze anything. We are not a refrigerator. We have to liberate our territories regardless of the weather, regardless of the season. We cannot miss a single stop, because our people are there, we see how they suffer...
The task of the President is to liberate all our territories from terrorists and occupants,” he noted.
According to Danilov, “the last 7-8 meetings of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff were devoted to the Kherson direction” and now it is possible to talk about it.

2. Huge territory of Kherson region mined by Russians, - Danilov
News Censor.NET Society
NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov warned that a large territory of Kherson region is mined by Russians and urged Ukrainians not to rush to return to the liberated territories until the Armed Forces of Ukraine allow it.
He stated this in the air of telethon, reports Censor.NЕТ.
“As for the infrastructure, they destroy everything that can be destroyed. And unfortunately, today we can confirm that a huge territory is mined. Moreover, we do not exclude that there are large “land mines”. Therefore, the population should be very careful about this issue. And until our Armed Forces, our military give the permission to return to the settlements that they liberate every day, unfortunately, we do not advise people to return there. Because there must be a clean territory from mines, from explosives. This is a big job for our guys and girls who are engaged in this work,” Danilov emphasized.
He also confirmed that Antonivskyi bridge is indeed in “absolutely unserviceable condition”.
“As for the withdrawal of the occupiers, it is happening under the influence of our Armed Forces. There is no “act of goodwill” or something else they invent and show on television that someone gives commands to someone... They have a clear idea that if they stayed there for a certain period of time, they would not be physically there anymore,” the NSDC Secretary emphasized.
He added that today the crossing of the Dnipro is complicated, but noted that “our Armed Forces understand how to overcome these obstacles”.

3. Kremlin is in stage of losing control, power is passing into hands of criminal-terrorist group, - Danilov
News Censor.NET World
Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the NSDC, said that power in the Russian Federation is passing into the hands of a criminal-terrorist group.
He announced this on Twitter, Censor.NET informs.
“The Kremlin is in the stage of losing control. Power in the Russian Federation is rapidly passing into the hands of a criminal-terrorist group, power functions are delegated to Kadyrov’s punitive squads and Prigozhin prisons. The Russian Federation has turned into a typical failed state. Next is destabilization, dismantling, deputization,” he emphasized.

So much nonsense in a single post.
You should get a prize for that.
You are so right about the need for more GPS rocket and more max range artillery. One Freeper posted what the Nixon administration delivered to Israel in a 32 day period during the ‘73 War and it sure makes current US efforts look anemic. The Ukrainians are dealing with a very long front and they need lots of the good stuff.
