>Trump of course put no money into this race.
Did you read the article?
“ Right after that, Trump gave me his full endorsement and made a contribution to my campaign. We also had several telephone calls, wherein he offered me his complete support. The NRCC, on the other hand, offered nothing but passive support, dragging their feet behind the scenes. They delayed implementing me into their Young Guns program, which cost our campaign a significant amount of donor exposure.”
Yes, trump supported candidates in primaries; then did not in general election. $393,000 for this guy; primaries are a lot cheaper than general elections.
And remember, the NRCC was going to give him money, until it came out that he lied about serving in afghanistan:
- Republican J.R. Majewski lied about serving in Afghanistan
- NRCC canceled about $1 million in ads for final six weeks
i imagine that was probably the reason he lost.
He was not totally on-the-ball as a candidate in other ways:
- Majewski failed for months to disclose his personal finances as federal law requires.
- He actually claimed to BELIEVE all of Qanon’s theories.
So again, I kind of agree it wasn’t just Trump’s fault, he was not a good candidate to run against an incumbent with a +10 win record.
