I really can’t make fun of that, because we do the exact same thing. Korea was a police action. Vietnam was, I don’t know. But it wasn’t a war because war was never declared. Then came further police actions, kinetic actions, etc.
In a way, we are perhaps worse than Russia in this regard. We pretend to have the moral high ground. But we go to war rather casually. We just don’t call it a war.
Except that I don’t recall us fining anyone for calling the Korean or Vietnam Wars “wars”.
