Pence: ‘I think we’ll have better choices in the future’ than Trump

Former Vice President Mike Pence said in a newly released interview clip that he and his family are giving “prayerful consideration” to whether he should run for president in 2024 and that the US will have “better choices in the future” than former President Donald Trump.

Asked by ABC News’ David Muir if he believes he can defeat Trump, who is expected to announce a 2024 campaign for the White House on Tuesday, Pence replied: “Well, that would be for others to say, and it’d be for us to decide whether or not we’d want to test that.”

And asked whether he believes his former boss should serve again as president, Pence said: “I think that’s up to the American people. But I think we’ll have better choices in the future. People in this country actually get along pretty well once you get out of politics. And I think they want to see their national leaders start to reflect that same, that same compassion and generosity of spirit. And I think, so in the days ahead, I think there will be better choices.”

“And for me and my family, we will be reflecting about what our role is in that,” he added.

The former vice president has been coy about his plans for 2024, but he has long been viewed as a potential aspirant for the Republican presidential nomination. Any formally declared bid, though, would almost certainly face strong opposition from Trump, whose supporters he would need in a primary fight.

Given last week’s results, Trump would not stand a chance. The democrats cheat freely and openly while they sneer and call us election deniers. As savagely as they attacked him for the past 6 years they would amp it up even more if he were the nominee again.

I've been on the record as saying that Pence takes too much undeserved grief for that January 6th fiasco in Congress. He had no authority to do anything other than what he did.

Having said that, I will also point out that he'd be an awful presidential candidate. The only dull personalities who can win presidential elections are Democrats.

If you’re trashing Trump, you’re part of the problem.
If you’re trashing DeSantis, you’re part of the problem.
If you’re trashing Youngkin, you’re part of the problem.

Etc.

Don’t be part of the problem.

As for Pence ... I hope he’s right. We need great candidates for President in 2028 and beyond. It would be great if they’re even better than Trump. Pence himself, however, is NOT one of them. He has proven himself to be a real piece of trash.

I’m no Trumpster, but the one thing that worries me about DeSantis is if he is a neo-con. Trump proved to me he is a man of peace (despite putting neo-cons in the cabinet...sigh). I just don’t see how we turn the country around with a R party that is always willing to unload the Treasury on a foreign war, because WW2 or something.

I REALLY hope DeSantis is not in fact a “puppet of Jeb and Ken Griffin and the WEF.” Because other than him, things look reeeeeeally shitty right now. Trump was the best thing to happen to this nation in decades, perhaps ever, and they crippled and betrayed him from day one, and now even threw the midterms to blame and bury him. We are on a very dangerous precipice.

Mike Pence is part of the UNI PARTY. We need someone real strong, with real stones. For real tough times, we need a real tough person.

Good Lord - I hope Trump rubs again just so I can get some decent whiskey glasses without Pence’ name on them.

The guy is an outright scum bag - I used to think he was at least good hearted and naive but this isn’t Christian behavior AT ALL.

he could have just plainly stated “Let’s hear all the arguments” presiding at the Jan 6 Electoral vote.
We have dimwit members here who claim rubberstamping even questionable election results is the Vice President's (AKA Kamala Harris) Constitutional duty.

“...the US will have “better choices in the future” than former President Donald Trump. ..”

President Trump gave this nation the greatest four years in history. He has proven himself as a great leader who can govern the most complex of governments.

Don’t change horses in mid-stream!!!!

.
It’s Hannity trying to rehab him.

There’s and email that came to light where Hannity was telling Trump to pardon Hunter Biden as his final act as Prez, and last night Hannity said the Republicans shouldn’t have Investigations.

Bait and switch.

If you think you know that then surely you know what the consequences would have been if he refused to rubber stamp the election results.

What would be the consequences MR.Constitutional expert?
