The stupid figures the guberment is showing an increase of sales is misleading. Sure people are spending more—MORE for basics like groceries and fuel but getting less for their money spent. So if the truth be known total sales are down.

And, lots of stupid people just voted to continue...high gas prices, sky rocketing inflation, shortages and supply problems.

Smelly pants thinks the economy is soaring because gets his 10%, lives in subsidized housing, presidential perks, and has lots of money. He can buy what ever he wants.
Time to end the presidential perks and have the President pay for everything.

After indulging in a Thanksgiving feast, Americans are waking up and heading to the stores in search Black Friday bargains — but this year inflation is weighing on shoppers heavier than last night’s turkey. No, we're not. Haven't spend a dime on that Dec. 25th holiday in years.
“And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”
My wife already picked up some nice kitchen utensils and appliances over the past year to prepare that food...God is good.

Back when I actually did Christmas shopping in stores (before there was an online option), I would wait until the very last week, usually the day before Christmas Eve. Mostly the gifts I bought for others was books, music (like CD box sets), things at Sharper Image and other "edgier" type products that I knew nobody already had. No fuss, no stress. Got it all done in one day at one shopping mall with something like a sit down burger joint so I could get a burger and couple of beers in between.
Everybody always told me I had the best gifts.

It’s also because Black Friday has turned into Black November with sales starting in late October

they put the expectation way up here...knowing that it cannot be obtained...but 10 to one...because of on line shopping...it always exceeds REAL expections.

A new toaster at Walmart is literally the same price as 2 or 3 loaves of bread. You can also buy cheaper dry goods (e.g. canned food) from China or wherever. We're well on our way to it being cheaper to buy crap from China and burn it for heat than pay for electric heat.

Numbers from the Government are often doctored, in fact inflation is running over 20% for many items..2023 will bring much higher inflation and turmoil..

For every DemoRat or RINO voter with TDS, enjoy the pains of high inflation. They got what they voted for but rejoice. Orange Man gone - and apparently their buying power too.

I do all my Christmas shopping online. Why go to a crowded store and wait in line for one of the 4 or 5 cashiers?
And when I say crowded, I don't just mean people. The aisles are even more crowded than normal with all the junk stacked in the center aisles. You can barely move a cart around those things...

Hubby was out and about this morning in our Upstate NY neck of the woods. He happened to go through what passes for a retail sector around here.
No lines.
No traffic.
Parking lots not close to being full.
You couldn’t tell it’s Black Friday.

This AM I bought a 10” hand truck wheel, a can of Deep Creep, a 14” monkey wrench, a set of knee pads and two 1 3/4 hose clamps, 106.00. Seemed inflationary to me.
