Is the robot just camera equipped and remote controlled with the human controller having a “fire” button he can push or does it make its own attack decisions using AI? Big difference.
Reminds me of the scene in Maximum Overdrive of a paranormally possessed M274 military mule with what looked like a tripod mounted German machine gun.
Let me guess: They’ll be programmed to exterminate anyone wearing a MAGA hat in public, has a sign on his lawn for the Republican candidate, used a banned word in the past 40 years or criticizes the current regime.
Druggies are a protected class in San Francisco.
They are allowed to shoot up in public, take over city parks tossing used needles all over the place, camp out and block sidewalks, defecate wherever they want, and aggressively panhandle in front of businesses.
The robots will be programmed to go after the regime’s enemies: Republicans.
Oooh, I want to do the programming for the robots . . .

Extremely limited situations aren’t going to be extremely limited for very long; somebody is going to find a way to justify the usage of these things in a broader range of situations.

The liberals could also use that device to clean up areas like homeless encampments and then after the fact blame the programmers for excessive force incidents.
