He means Wrath of Khan is the sequel to the TV series ep. “Space Seed”. Montalban was great glad he did the part at a pay cut!

How would they done a sequel with Khan? He was blown up on the USS Reliant at the end.Spock died in the same movie. Spock came back by being coffined on the Genesis planet, right? Khan was killed by the Genesis device. They could have easily worked around that.
