Baloney. They did a lab experiment. Building and commercializing controlled fusion energy is impossible now. We don't even know what designs, alloys, and materials we could use to commercialize this. Maybe 50 years from now, at the earliest, if humans are still around.

Benchtop experiment doesn't equate to a high capacity utility fusion reactor.
...but it can be used to try to justify a large budget increase at Lawrence Livermore / University of California.
