Here’s my take on the present republican situation. I think we should all back DeSantis with no reservations. Trump should bask in his achievements and become the elder statesman. His policies were genius but his twittering and appointees not so much. There is only going to be one Donald Trump who exposed the swamp and made bitter enemies of every left wing cook in this galaxy. We republicans need to unify around a candidate, learn to cheat with mail in ballots like the rats and learn how to “cure” ballots after the voting is done!

As I wrote elsewhere, there is a popular theoretical question - "would you have killed Hitler in the 30s if you knew what was to come?" Many people answer "yes."

True, we haven't perfected time travel. But then 2020 came along.

I believe many on the left feel the same way about Trump. Lacking a time machine, the 2020-equivalent question was "would you steal the election by whatever means, to remove Trump from office? Because, ya know, he's Hitler."

We are seeing their "yes" right now.

I bet most Bidet supporters sure as heck see lots of problems and believe that the election was fraudulent, and it is very likely that Trump won by a mile. But, because Orange Man Bad, these Guardians of Civilization grip onto whatever half-baked rationale for the "legitimacy" of the results, to keep the inquiry into irregularities stopped. Then, they crank up the volume to 11 on these Jan 6 "hearings", because they feel morally justified.

2020 was a de facto going back in time to kill Hitler. The corollary, is that the left needs to keep it up, because unlike in their theoretical head where Hitler is dead, Trump is still a fighting force AND Puddin' Head isn't strong.

Clarence Thomas got it right, when he wrote about the protests (threats?) from the Roe leak: "We are becoming addicted to wanting particular outcomes, not living with the outcomes we don't like."
