Slightly over a month ago, 37 out of 49 Senate Republicans re-elected Mitch McConnell as their leader. Yesterday, speaking on behalf of those Republicans, McConnell stated in the clearest terms possible what matters to the GOP: Ukraine. During a time of economic upheaval, border breakdown, soaring crime, and rising energy costs, it’s Ukraine that matters.
This tweet catches the magic moment when McConnell turned his back on the American people and announced that Ukraine’s well-being was “the number one priority for the United States right now according to most Republicans”:
McConnell: "Providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians is the number one priority for the United States right now according to most Republicans. That's how we see the challenges confronting the country at the moment."
And there you have it. You were not imagining it. When it comes to what matters to our elected politicians, it’s not you.
Our national debt is over $31 trillion and, if the $1.7 trillion omnibus bill passes (as it appears it will), our national debt will be closing in on $35 trillion—but that matters less than Ukraine.
Our southern border is completely broken, with untold millions of low-skilled, non-English speaking, uneducated people, many of whom are criminals ferrying drugs and engaged in sex trafficking, and none of whom understand American principles already having entered in the last two years—but that matters less than Ukraine.
Fentanyl has, for some time, been the number one cause of death for Americans in the 18-45 demographic—but that matters less than Ukraine.
American inflation is at a level unseen since the 1970s—but that matters less than Ukraine.
Crime is ravaging American cities—but that matters less than Ukraine.

We know......................
The GOP is as dead as a bag of hammers.
The real owners are the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions. Forget the politicians, they’re an irrelevancy. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the statehouses, the city halls. They’ve got the judges in their back pockets. And they own all the big media companies, so that they control just about all of the news and information you hear. They’ve got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want; they want more for themselves and less for everybody else.
-George Carlin
They are what we thought they were.
Self absorbed assistant Democrats. It’s not that they don’t care about us, it’s that they actively hate us.
Even a bag of hammers is useful................
They hate US, they hate MAGA, they hate Trump, which is why they need another dose of DJT.
Given that Russia, Putin, and pro-Russian posters on FR issue nuclear threats against the USA every single day then yes, defeating Russia is our #1 concern right now.
I support defeating Russia in the near future because it is far cheaper than gifting the military-industrial complex with trillions to finance a new Cold War against imperial Russia.
To be fair, when Ukraine coughed up the nukes that had been deployed within its borders during the days of the Soviet Union, the U.S. committed itself to opposing future Russian aggression toward them.
This commitment was key to persuading “The Ukraine” to relent. It may be that McConnell is responding to what he sees as a moral imperative.
There’s a big difference between modern Russia and The Soviet Union.
The danger from the Soviet Union wasn’t from their military, as much as it was their support of Fifth Columnists throughout the Western World, and their influence on society. They Soviet Union may have fallen, but those seeds bore their rotten fruit and are still there. Ironically, these are the very people that do oppose Putin.
The only support modern Russia has outside of Russia for the most part is from people who have no influence on matters.
You would think that these elitist politicians, once they get to old age like most of them are, would have a little bit of fear of meeting God in the afterlife, but they apparently do not. Perhaps they sold their souls long ago.
> “ ..... 37 out of 49 Senate Republicans re-elected Mitch McConnell .....”
McConnell controls the $$$; controls whose PACs will get funded.
Bet those 12 of 49, who opposed the McConArtist, are either retiring or begging constituents to donate more, because McConnell can fund their opponents who will purchase attack ads full of lies.
“There’s a big difference between modern Russia and The Soviet Union.”
Putin doesn’t seem to think so.
Doesn’t matter what Putin thinks. If anything, he think more like The Czar.
The sooner people realize the establishment doesn’t care about them the sooner things can change. Doesn’t matter what party they are in..
Correct - Communist Soviet Union infiltrated America a long time ago. McCarthy was right. It’s called Obama / progressives... and the seeds were sewn many many decades ago. America is more communist today than Russia is, apparently. Putin is the one fighting against gay pedophiles and gay marriage and is standing up for Christianity, while American communists / neocons foist globohomo and tranny story hour on the world, along with CCP style forced medical experimentation on the populace and thought / speech control.
I guess Trump was right about Mitch McConnell.
