My girlfriends’s uncle has a small goldmine of antique toys he’s built up over decades. As far as I know, none are restored, and they’re all in pretty good shape. A little rust here and there, but if I were five years old again, I’d play with any of em.
Art-deco looking trucks from the 40s, everyday Tonka trucks from the 70s (with the label “Made in Mound, Minnesota”), pedal cars, weird little cash registers, old wooden trucks and cars, etc.
I had a peripheral connection to the antique “industry” for lack of a better word about 30 years ago, and old toys are big business.

My brother-in-law collects Minions toys. He says they’ll be worth a lot in the future, but everyone else in the family knows that he’s just a few cards short of a full deck.
