I have a Ryobi battery-powered weed whip, which came with a leaf-blower attachment. I went back and bought the matching Ryobi chainsaw that uses the same batteries.
For the average homeowner who only uses tools like those in short spurts, battery is the way to go. No messing with mixing gas, temperamental carburetors, etc. Put in the battery and it works.
Funny thing is, I got the weed whip and the leaf blower, with battery, for not much more money than just one replacement battery costs. Not sure what to make of that, other than some kind of gouging. Damn capitalists. :-)
The snow blower uses a LOT of power, so it takes two of the heavy 40 volt batteries. Their bigger two-stage blower needs FOUR batteries!
