A friend from my high school class of 73 just moved to TX. She sold her homes in CA and AZ. Last night the intense cold exposed some deficiencies in her new TX property. The prior owner added more floor space that lacks heating, cooling and insulation. The interior was caked in ice this morning. Both bathrooms have no running water this morning...presumably frozen pipes. She did leave the faucet running in the kitchen and there is water there. Nothing like a severe seasonal weather episode to expose problems.
She moved to TX because her children and grandchildren are there. Escaping CA and moving near her family in TX was always the plan.
