Interesting to me that even with full control of govt the past two years, Dems were not able to go back to the previous SALT deductions.
I’m assuming they may have been concerned at the implications in some Dem areas that DON’T have those high state and local taxes (the reaction of those taxpayers), and also, in the end, it means higher gubmint receipts.
The whole problem was that the massive local spending will be held to higher scrutiny, and that is the lifeblood of the whole Dem party; they force taxpayers at a local level to transfer tax revenues through the public employee unions to the Dem coffers, and the Dem operatives (gubmint workforce) tolerate the higher union dues because their salaries are so out of proportion to the private sector.
