Don’t think it works that way.

If she had shot them during the carjacking, she might have been OK (although St. Louis prosecutor has a penchant for prosecuting victims of criminal action). She could claim she was afraid for her life.

But ‘tracking them down’ and finding her stolen car at a gas station and then shooting the men inside is likely to get her in trouble pretty much anywhere.

You're right. Fine the woman $50 for the cost of the police having to clean up the garbage.

Not with me. I hate thieves. The more of them winding up dead on the street, the better. I don't care if they stole a loaf of bread or a car. I don't care if someone's family is starving. There are services out the yin-yang for that. Don't steal.

Hell, I watched a video on YouTube from a guy named Mark Rober. He made the glitter-bomb and skunk spray packages to get back at porch pirates. His most recent video shows thieves breaking into cars in broad daylight, some of the victims are in traffic in their cars and having stuff stolen right out of their vehicles. One of the thieves who took a package off the street (he leaves some out to see if people steal them or call the intended recipient) had a kid who called the glitter bomb a scam. And started cussing out the "scammer" even though his mom was a thief and he knew it was stolen. He was white trailer park trash. The video showed him and his abode.

I don't care anymore. Not Guilty.

We have the same problem in this State with progressive DAs who refuse to prosecute car thieves (because that would be "racist" or some such thing). The police do not even bother to arrest car thieves these days. The results are exactly what you would expect. We have a massive increase in the rates of car theft with a corresponding increase in violent carjacking and robbery of the driver as well.

Let the vigilantes take care of thieves. The "Justice System" certainly won't.

I agree to an extent, but...

It's the "and then shooting the men inside" that I disagree with.

Maybe she brought the gun solely for self defense. SCOTUS have ruled that we have the Right to "Keep and bear arms".

She has the right, even in this case, to be armed.

I think she absolutely can say she had no intent to shoot anyone; just an intent to protect herself. After all, that fact that these people stole her car proves criminal intent on their part. They, not her, made the situation dangerous just by their actions.

She had a gun yes, but contends they pulled their gun(s) on her. She has the right to protect herself from these men, who she know stole her car, and in split second appears to be prepared to take her life.

Absolutely not guilty of 1st or 2nd degree murder. Manslaughter at the most.

Get the right jury and not so. They would have probably shot her when she tried to take it back ... good preventive defense.

WHAT WAS HER LEGAL OPTION WHICH WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN GETTING HER CAR BACK WITH GUYS SITTING INSIDE?

Sure, but it is not right, or correct. They DESERVED TO DIE. Sorry, America is now a land of P***ies. If you want a return of law and order, and boy do I want that, you either give police the authority to END things, or THE PEOPLE will take back that power LOANED to government.

Well this is the State that punishes people for defending their property against BLM thugs.

Technically she likely did just that, during their second carjacking. If she said “Get out of my car…” she’d pointed out it was hers. Them pulling on her was trying to steal it again. Had they recognized the truth of her claim, repented and left they have lived. She’d have recoveredh her car and probably given the cops a description of those she’d chased off. Which per higher level policy the cops would have ignored.

Things don’t get messy unless the victim class develops logic skills and learns to apply the accepted legal principle that conspirators to commit a crime are equally responsible for it and deserve the same penalty for it. And recognize that those hiding behind ‘official’ titles and setting ‘official’ policies can be de facto conspirators, being paid in votes. And seek to recover the ‘official’ system from its de facto carjackers.

I’d do jury nullification.

Sure it doesn’t work that way. She needs me on her jury just the same.
