My child is a true transgender based on an incurable genetic defect.
I have walked in those shoes with my child and spent thousands trying to find a cure so they could live a normal life. I know more about this issue than thousands of others, as it consumed my life for four years.
HERE ARE THE FACTS, RACHEL, YOU PARTISAN TROLL:
1. My child’s condition is extremely rare. Less than 1/10 of 1% of the population has this particular brand of endocrine disorder.
2. Unless there is an underlying medical issue, such as PCOS or something throwing off adrenals (both of which can be treated), then it’s a psychological issue.
3. If it is psychological, they need therapy, not butchery.
4. People pushing gender change on children are evil. Even issues with the endocrine system, which can flair during puberty, will settle down again around the ages of 22 to 24.
5. Engaging in make-believe does not address the underlying psychological issue and does MORE damage over time.
6. The medical industry has been weaponized against parents and is pushing a narrative for big money, shutting down anyone who questions them. Sound familiar?
7. Most transgenders want NOTHING to do with you, the other self-professed “advocates”, drag queen story hour, etc. They want to be left alone. YOU DO NOT SPEAK FOR THEM.

People who are completely aghast at transgenderism (as I am) do NOT place people like your child in that category, for the most part. (There are likely some who do, but they are largely ignorant)
Children who are born with a physically ambiguous sex due to a genetic issue are not the target. (For that matter, neither are perfectly sexually formed children “targets” either-it is the adults pushing it and enabling it that are, and should be the “targets”.)
Your post is the perfect one. Everything in it is spot on, particularly “They need therapy, not butchery”.
And even most of those kids don’t need therapy. They just need to be left alone, and the vast majority of them would grow out of whatever sexual ambivalency they might have. The problem, is there is part of the adult world that has made it “trendy”, and kids, who don’t know any better, can simply fall into that pit, even if they go in there of their own accord.
It is sick. Sick. It breaks my heart.

My physically-normal teenage grandson has been infected with the transgender delusion. His mother doesn’t know how to deal with the situation. The fact that they live in Western Oregon definitely does not help.
