A glimpse into the operation of a Ukrainian sniper position, posted by War Translated on his youtube channel.
The video is of a sniper in his position by a window checking on the position of friendlies via radio. The thump thump thump sounds of gunfire and explosions can be constantly heard in the background.

The way I have always viewed this, Russia and Ukraine are both Soviet descended states, both heavily invested institutionally for decades in untruth and propaganda as tools of the government. Ukraine was just as invested and involved in the state use of over-the-top propaganda, and that didn’t just stop when the Iron Curtain fell, though at that time, there may have been less need for it than there is now.
There is virtually nothing information-wise coming out of that part of the world that is trustworthy. Nothing.
What makes this dishonest and outrageous situation egregiously worse as an American is our own government is carrying out a propaganda campaign targeting Americans to justify this corrupt flow of money we must borrow to send over there for the corrupt financial gain of those over here.
And the people elsewhere in the world we had depended on in the past to deliver information have shown themselves to be absolutely and completely untrustworthy, not only in this conflict, but in any other.
I make an exception for the Gulf War when we made the move to embed reporters directly with units. Even the most hard-core Leftists had difficulty bringing themselves to tear down the troops in combat when they were witnessing it themselves and could see up front the American military in action. Most of them had little real interaction with our military units before then, and for some it opened their eyes.

That was just an idiot with a scoped rifle. No trained sniper would have got within feet of the window. Putting your muzzle on the window sill or sticking it out the window is particularly stupid.
