There’s a spin-off from the Chicago Economic School ** that does that - Public Choice Theory.
Not sure how successful their “modeling” is, but they do address it in their writings.
** I call it a spin-off from the Chicago school because all the adherents of it that I know are originally those type of economic thinkers.
