Since the Onset of COVID, Blue States Are Losing Population at an Astonishing Rate
PJ Media ^ | 12/29/2022 | Rick Moran

The Census Bureau’s estimates of the population of the 50 states and the District of Columbia as of last July show that blue-state populations are on the move in astonishing numbers. And red-state populations are benefitting hugely from the exodus.

“Texas and Florida make up about 15% of the U.S. population but accounted for 70% of its population growth this past year,” reports the Wall Street Journal. And the movement away from progressive-run states continues, even after the lockdowns have ended.

The U.S. population grew by about 1.2 million between July 2021 and July 2022, with immigration accounting for a million of the total.

Washington Examiner:

Domestic out-migration — the number of U.S. residents leaving the state minus those entering — in 2020-22 was 3.3% of the 2020 population in New York state and 2.2% in Illinois and California. These are staggering numbers, far higher than any other state. The losses are undoubtedly concentrated in central cities, as suggested by the District of Columbia, where pre-COVID population was growing but in 2020-22 was down 3.8%.

Not coincidentally, these states have some of the nation’s highest state and local tax rates and high housing costs due to restrictive regulations. That has spurred out-migration for more than a decade. The post-COVID woes — lockdowns and masking mandates, the post-George Floyd upward zoom in violent crime, and the spread of homeless encampments — have sparked a larger exodus that seems unlikely to be fully reversed.

The Examiner’s Michael Barone points out some striking facts about migration from blue to red states. The five states that border the Pacific Ocean — once beckoning Middle America to their scenic beauty — have lost their allure.

Thanks’ for the offer. My son has been living in the Phoenix area since 2010. Not sure that his wife or my wife wants us hanging out with a former (or current) Mrs. America. LOL

That’s great to have them there! Fun!
(Yeah, my “Mrs America” sister is now single again and constantly on the prowl. Ha ha!)

Must be why Biden wants all the illegals to be bused to blue states for electoral vote count.

I’m thinking of selling my farm up here in Nor-Cal, was thinking of heading to West Virginia or Tennessee.

Probably could do with a warmer climate though; a few minimums are needed.

Minimum of 20 acres, own water supply (preferably private well), electricity to property line at least, and 3 bedroom/2bath. Willing to settle for smaller house if property is suitable for farming, altitude is not a consideration below 6000 feet.

Price between 100k to 400k, also have 10 acres in Washington state I am going to sell.

Please let my know if she has something like that on the market.

Appreciate it.

Blue state update from Upstate NY...

PROPOSED CORTLANDVILLE LAW COULD UPDATE PROPERTY CODES

This guy want the board to be able to rubber stamp anything Albany does that's code related without a vote. Hiw efficient of him. Psssst, dude, there's a reason why we don't think that's never been a good idea.

And then there's this...

AG's office investigating deadly crash involving deputy that killed teen following a chase

Three guesses who the AG is investigating. Bet it's not the alleged car thieves.

OMG. How much of that one above is local governments all over NYS preparing to offer up their citizens as a burnt offering to Deep State on the nat gas appliance bans.

But they don’t have the guts to risk a vote on it.
