Russia launched 16 "kamikaze" drones into Ukraine overnight, Kyiv's military said on Friday, a day after Moscow fired dozens of missiles in its latest barrage against Ukrainian critical infrastructure.

An administrative building in the city was partially destroyed, according to Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv's military administration, who also said there was no information about any casualties.
Russia has launched numerous waves of drone and missile strikes against Ukraine since mid-October, heavily damaging its energy infrastructure and forcing planned and emergency power outages.

100%! ;-)
Russia Targets Ukraine in New ‘Kamikaze’ Drone Attack Shooting Down Some of Their Own Missiles and Two Fighter Jets. Congratulations!!!
Let the Europeans deal with it. They and the Russians both want the Ukraine’s natural resources. It’s not America’s problem.
Putin’s clowns accidentally shot down one of their own $40 million SU-27s yesterday. So much winning!
“Let the Europeans deal with it. They and the Russians both want the Ukraine’s natural resources.”
Ben, UncleBankster here thinks the idea of Russia wanting Ukraine’s resources is “laughable”.
Forgive me for asking, but since you are not pro-Ukraine could you perhaps share some info that Uncle B. would accept that shows Russia’s intentions over the estimated $2 trillion in oil and gas that Ukraine has?
Thank you and Happy New Year to you both!
Did Putin come down with a new fatal disease?
how does Russia plan on paying for all the damage they’re causing?
this will end up being real expensive for them
Yup, its called imperialism.
It appears Russia is using a combination of drones to probe, test and identify Ukraine's defenses, then they target those defenses with a wave of missiles, closely followed by a wave of similar missiles targeting the parts of the Ukrainian Military or infrastructure they want to disable.
They appear to be getting better at it.
I’m pretty sure the American Taxpayer will pay Uke Expatriates living in the US and West for all that damage, and the Ukes will thank America by voting for Soros bought political candidates, or behaving like Chechens behave outside of Russia.
Isn’t a “kamikaze drone” basically a guided missile?
The thing is that if left alone it would become America’s problem, and a costly one. Think the $40 billion is high? Remember ww2 was more costly to tye USA.
If Hitler was stopped at Munich the USA would have been richer and with more Americans alive.
This is a Munich moment for stopping Putin
LOL, that was me. :)
Ukraine will run out of AA missiles before Russia runs out of drones.
OK, legitimate question.
First "Drone" intimates that the vehicle may be remotely piloted by a human.
Additionally, MANY drones have lifting airfoils (wings), fewer "Missiles" do.
Drones generally use rocket engines for launch boost only, and vehicles well int the "Missile" category use only Ramjet or Rocket engines.
Cruise "Missiles" use Turbojet engines and Airfoils and were originally designed to operate below the speed of sound. Drones can use propeller drives and be electrically powered, generally not seen in missiles.
At this point in the discussion, the Qualifier "Basically" needs to be addressed, as both drones and missiles are designed and built SPECIFICALLY for particular uses, not generally for "basic" uses.
So drones are cheaper, slower, lower, easier to hit, offer real-time observation and can be piloted as bait without the loss of the pilot.
Missiles, particularly hypersonic missiles are the opposite of that list.
Different uses for unmanned aerial vehicles.
