To: Jim Noble

Are we at that point? Are we at the point where it is a binary choice between McCarthy and Hakeem?

If the GOP does not hang together then we may hang separately with Hakeem as speaker.

I don’t pretend to know all the machinations that may happen behind the scenes, but if it’s either McCarthy or a Democrat speaker, would you folks actually prefer Hakeem because of McCarthy’s shortcomings?

And are we at the point where the speaker election comes down to McCarthy or Hakeem, with no other Republican possibility?

I think people forget that the senate is not ours. Not a dang thing will get done in two years. This will be called the wasted period.

You tell me: Is it more likely that 188 McCarthy votes will switch, or that 4 RINOs will switch?
