Optics? Who cares about optics? We are talking about our country, and you worry about what someone that probably despises you thinks? You remind me of the media asking Alan Iverson about missing practice. That is how I feel about optics. I am talking about creating a party that legislates, and people are worried about optics—not making laws that protect our liberties. But, how this debate looks.

Why do you care about optics?

Legislating is not meant to be a 60-minute TV show in that everyone can be happy about the ending. Our country is divided, and the GOP has taken control of 1 chamber. We must fight to use that chamber to advance what we believe needs to be done to salvage this nation. Do not worry about what the talking heads think about the sound bites. I'm sorry that offends some people. But, they are low-information voters (H/T Rush Limbaugh) and their sensibilities are one of the problems with this country.

I don't know who will get the votes.

McCarthy will probably never get them because they absolutely do not trust his word. And in politics, the only thing you really have is your word. Once people lose faith in your word, they do not follow your direction.

Whoever wins will commit to the request that floor amendments be allowed once again. That Appropriations and Rules committees will be restored to regular order after 14 years.

BTW, the process works for Republicans too. They have been emersed in power since 2008, and you have seen no changes. They issue press releases, and we get the same thing.

Suppose you find this ugly in the House. Wait for the Senate to start seeing these defections from leadership.

Also, I wasn't aware I was conflating and distracting. I want to explain our position.

You may disagree. And at the end of the day, it does not matter. Because you and I have different perspectives on what our elected leaders should be doing, my ideas may directly conflict with your desires. And we go our separate ways.

Newt & Dan Crenshaw calling fellow Republicans terrorists because they think on their own.

You know, I haven’t heard Newt mention her lately.

I wonder if he’s gotten bored with her by now and is out cheating on her with future wife #4 at the moment. His marriages all lasted about 20 years, so the third one is about to hit its expiration date.

At age 80 in a few months, Newt’s expiration date is probably closer.

Hugh Hefner was over that age when he tied the knot for the last time. I wonder if his widow is looking for love? A few minutes with her and Newt won't be discussing "Callista and I..." anymore!

And they look like a bunch of 🤡s

They can get rid of him later, if 5 ask for a ‘no confidence’ vote.

Your gonna get more 🤡s if this keeps up, and very possibly Jefferies, who is only 6 votes short will become Speaker.

Oh please. If five of them call for a "no confidence vote", they vote, and he stays in the position because the vote goes 200-20 again.

Or, maybe they do actually get a majority voting to remove him, what then? Is he actually kicked out, or is it like another article mentioned, where he then agrees to resign the position. What happens when he simply doesn't resign?

And you know what happens if this keeps up and we get even more smiley faces? We just might end up with a speaker who's worth something, instead of the next lead RINO on the list.

What the 20 clowns want ultimately is to strip the Speaker position of all power, leaving just the title alone, thus everything will be ruled by Committee Chairmen. With this move there is no need to remove KM, as he will have no more say than anyone else, and less then a powerful Committee Chairmen.

And apparently, it only takes one to call for ‘no confidence’ or to stop a bill, according to the latest concessions. There is no predicting how many will be on which side of, as yet unannounced, legislation or policy.

Getting a Speaker ‘worth something’ seems not to be the objective. In fact, from all the concessions, it seems like the 20 clowns would be happy to remove the position entirely, if that were possible.

And now Washington Democrat Sen. Patty Murray was sworn in Tuesday as Senate president pro tempore. She, not KM, is now in line for the Presidency

Hope all the 20 are happy. More unintended consequences sure to follow.

The purpose of the kidnapping is to extract a ransom.

The ransom demand is the only way the conservative representatives can achieve any of their agenda
